Grateful

12 months ago today, I took a giant leap of faith, signed my first commercial lease, & picked up the keys to my new, bigger & better, clinic. 🏑
What unfolded was a year of steep learning, trusting, committing and creating.
There have been moments when I’ve wondered what on earth I’ve done.
When the relentlessness of a million tasks has totally overwhelmed me.
But I kept going.
Why?
Because of the incredible children and their families that we have the enormous privilege of walking beside, & the outstanding women I’m fortunate enough to work alongside.
We share the same ‘why’ at Connected Play and Counselling, & that’s the real reason it works so well, & why almost all of our referrals come from word of mouth. Something I’m very proud of.
So, here are my top 12 highlights…worthy of a little indulgence & a spot on the grid πŸ˜‰
1. Creating a space that is warm and welcoming for our families to rest, heal & grow, & supportive & nourishing for our staff
2. Employing our wonderful team of admins who have the unenviable task of trying to keep me on track & who keep the Connected Play engine running smoothly
3. Working alongside the most talented, hardworking, exceptional bunch of therapists I could wish for
4. Launching a fab new website
5. Hosting a very fun clinic opening party
6. Hosting two screenings of SEEN the film, giving back to community & starting some important conversations
7. Interviewing the wonderful Anne from SEEN (I promise that content is coming!!) & later meeting in real life!
8. Attending an in person, Synergetic Play Therapy training with legendary Lisa Dion
9. Being gifted the most incredible, priceless collection of miniatures (I am STILL blown away by this act of genererosity) & subsequently creating a space for adults to experience the powerful modality of Sandplay Therapy (sessions commencing 2026!)
10. Time spent connecting with fabulous, like minded therapists.
11. Attending a plethora of professional development & seeing world renowned Gabor MatΔ“ in person
12. Being held, supported & mentored by my three incredible supervisors.
I am beyond grateful for it all πŸ™β€οΈ
